Preparing the Konavle costume for St. Blaise's Day

On Thursday, January 22, more than 60 people gathered at the headquarters of the Friends of Konavle Heritage Association in Gruda. The occasion was to help those who are searching for the parts of costumes that they need to be part of the upcoming day of St. Blaise, the patron saint of Dubrovnik (3 Feb.). And to help others understand the value and importance of the Konavle costume.

Every year, a large number of people from Konavle participate in the celebration of St. Blaise dressed in Konavle costumes. This is the only festival that Konavle residents celebrate outside of Konavle. The popularity of this participation in the Festival is growing year by year.

The presentation last Thursday discussed the historical development of the costume and the meaning of the individual parts. After the presentation, a discussion was held on various topics related to the costume.
