Documenting living heritage

Until the late 20th century in Konavle, silk worms were cultivated in homes for domestic use. All Konavle women who were born before WWII raised silkworms as children. In addition, they listened to the stories of their elders, and these stories are a strong connection with our heritage. We regularly organize meetings with these older woman, and encourage them to talk in front of all those interested in the topic. We document and archive the conversations as material for research.
